Zoo Portraiture

I am not opposed to zoos as educational and conservative institutions, but I do try to maintain a high ethical standard in selecting those I visit. Zoos provide opportunities to portray rare species and capture them in a very intimate way. A successful zoo portrait reveals the character of the animal and creates a bond between viewer and subject. These animals allowed me a glimpse into their souls.
